Kevin Tarrant

Ho Chunk, Hopi

A member of the Ho Chunk Tribe of Nebraska and the Hopi Tribe of Arizona. He was brought up in the traditional way and has been dancing since the age of 2 and singing since the age of 10, with the Thunderbird American Indian Dancers.  For the past 10 years he has been the lead singer of the Silvercloud Singers, which was formed in 1991 with his brother Michael Tarrant, and friends Randy Whitehead and Lance Richmond.   With the group he has performed at most major venues in N.Y.C including the theater at Madison Square Garden, the Ritz, and the Apollo Theater.  Solo, he has performed with Ulali, David Amaran, and has sung in the plays "Winterman" and "Rez Sisters".  He has sung at the U.N. as well as various other venues such as Trinity Church, the Beacon Theater, and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.  He has also sung with the Wisconsin Dells Singers, the Cedar Tree Singers, and the Brooklyn Drum.  

Kevin Tarrant has performed most of his life, both nationally and internationally, in trying to keep native culture alive through song and dance.
